The City of Kutina is one of the first cities in Croatia that has ventured to have their visual identity laid out graphically. The visual identity of Kutina is both simple and complex. The underlying structure is the initial K letter. However, the letter has a complex form and appears in several graphic shapes, colours and versions. The letter K with one straight tangent line and two lines that form it at an angle, represents a certain plan of an urban area. When one places facilities (houses) and nature (trees) around these streets, the image becomes clear.
The 3D format version is a model of a town plan. A 2D format version is a plan. A monochromous version is a conceptual graphic image of varied but ordered geometrism, like a chip. A polychromous version is a schematic image of wishes and goals of civilizational urban development. The colours are chosen as natural (green) and derived (red-gray). The typography used is grotesque and serif one. There are a number of applications depending on technological feasibility of their realization.
The slogan that Kutina wants to be promoted by is: KUTINA – THE CITY OF TECHNOLOGY. This slogan is included in several applications.
With this project, the City of Kutina has targeted its goals in the future, which has already begun.
The author of the Kutina visual identity is Professor Boris Ljubičić
